“CONGRATULATIONS! YOUR USER NAME WAS PICKED AS A CASH APP LUCKY WINNER. PLEASE SEND YOUR CASHTAG AND VALID EMAIL ADDRESS!”

Scammers make fake accounts similar to Cash app user name on Twitter and Instagram like, @cashapp.213432 or @cashapp.twitter02, with cash app logo, and claim to be doing “giveaways”.

They message you claiming you’ve won and that you can claim it, and by sending them money or completing their request. When you send them money, they take and that might not be the last you might hear from them.

  1. Look for blue check, Cash App’s accounts are verified. “No check, it’s not Cash App.”
  2. Check the behavior, if they want to send money, they do this so they gain your trust, make you crave for more profits, and you send them larger amount of money.
